Delete your ESEA Boats account

You can ask us to permanently erase your ESEA Boats account and the personal data attached to it, under Article 17 of the GDPR. You do not need the app installed to do it.

In the app

1. Open the ESEA Boats app and go to Account, then Profile.
2. Tap “Delete account”.
3. Confirm on the “Delete your account?” screen by tapping “Delete”.

The app then shows the date your account will be erased and the deadline for cancelling.

Without the app

Send your request by e-mail to support@eseaboats.com, from the e-mail address registered on your ESEA Boats account. We use that address to confirm the request comes from you, and we may ask you to verify your identity before we act on it.

The 14-day grace period

A deletion request does not erase anything straight away. It opens a 14-day grace period. Until it ends, you can cancel the request from the same screen in the app, and your account and data are kept as they are. When the period ends, the erasure is carried out.

What is deleted

Erasure removes the personal data linked to you, including:

• Your profile and sign-in details, and your logged-in sessions and devices.
• Your settings, notification and marketing preferences, and your notifications.
• Your saved routes, waypoints and likes, and your trip annotations.
• Your conversations with the in-app assistant.
• The notes and documents you added to a boat.
• Trip history and boat data recorded while you owned a boat, unless another owner held it at the same time (see below).
• Your boat's nickname and home berth.

What is kept, and why

The GDPR allows some records to be kept where there is a legal or safety reason. We keep them only in a form that no longer identifies you:

• The boat itself. The boat's hull identification number, component serial numbers and service history stay, for warranty and product-safety and recall purposes. The boat is no longer linked to you.
• Who owned a boat, and when. The ownership record is closed on the erasure date and kept for warranty and recall. Once your account is erased it points to an anonymous record, not to you.
• Boats you shared. Trip history from a period when another owner also held the boat, and any zones set on a shared boat, stay for that owner. Your name is removed from them.
• Proof that we complied. A record of your consent choices (without your IP address or device details), your deletion request, the proof it was carried out, and a security log of access to personal data, which is kept for 12 months. None of these contains your personal data once the erasure is done.
• Dealer records. A boat registration code you used stays as a dealer fulfilment record, with your identity removed.

Backups are not rewritten. Any copy of your data in a backup disappears when that backup expires in the normal cycle, and if a backup is ever restored we erase your account again.
